Just got my CCW and looking at P32 or P38. I had a P11 that was great, but traded it off.

Which is more reliable? Which round is more effective?

Thanks

P38? Are you talking about the WWII fighter plane, or the 9mm Nazi pistol.

OK, I'm guessing you meant P3AT (380acp).
There's ample discussion of that issue here on the site if you look around on both forums. The short answer is: The P32 is probably slightly more reliable (been around longer & less challenging power to weight/size ratio), while the P3AT is a bit more powerful. The P32 has a slide stop and carries one extra round than the 3AT, which does not lock the slide back on an empty mag. Can you count to seven under fire? ;D

Lean on, pal. You won't be disappointed. 8) In case you were unaware, there is a new version of the P3AT that has recently hit the shelves. They haven't been out but a few weeks, so both models are still available. That being said, and I will soon be getting the first version P3AT, I do have an affinity for my P32.

we are in the 32 column, vote the 32....look in the p3at column, vote 380...you can't hardly go wrong with any....the knowledge and helpfulness here can get 95% all functioning, and the kt warrente the rest...best of luck any path you take.......gpr

The P32 has a little less recoil and holds one more round. The P3AT has better stopping power.
It all depends on which one is best for your needs. If possible, it's not a bad idea to get one of each.

I am new here but have had a P32 for 3 years. My first one I worked and worked but could not get it perfect.
I bought a second one and it was perfect with very little Fluff & Buff. I just shoot it every 6 months and then only about 14 rounds. This thing is great!

I figure I'll do the same with the P3AT sometime in the fall. ;D

Seriously...
Both the P-32 and the P-3AT can suffer limpwristing problems.
Let's not get into an accessory argument, here... you simply have to lock your wrists more with the AT than the P-32.
Both rounds are quite effective, and VERY effective in their respective pistols than anything available at this time.
Here's the truth: if you do YOUR job, your pistol will do it's job.
It's always been that way.
